What destroyed the old medieval order of Europe, and freed the enslaved serfs, which had been created a thousand years earlier by the dregs of the Roman Empire, was the Gutenberg press, in 1440.
All the elite ruling mafias of Europe were shaken to their foundations by that seminal event, as Gutenberg’s press ignited or accelerated the Renaissance, the Reformation, the American Revolution, the Industrial Revolution, and the genesis of classical liberalism.
However, the elite macro parasites fought back, and eventually strangled us again, especially after their string of successes in the 20th century, in which they succeeded in killing hundreds of millions of us, to drag us back into line.
And then the Internet came along, to ruin their day once more.
Let us hope the Internet eventually has the same impact as the Gutenberg press, and helps us shake off the macro parasites, hopefully forever this time, whereas the Gutenberg press didn’t quite make it, especially when the macro parasites took over all the newspapers, magazines, media, and publishing houses, which made use of it.
Once they suffocated the media, the macro parasites were able to usher us into their golden age of control, the twentieth century, and once again dominated all the bastions of information flow. But in Gary North’s memorable phrase, they may still control the bastions, the trouble is for them, the walls are down.
Because that is what the Internet does.
And the macro parasites hate it, in all their various usually-acronymed disguises, such as the UN, the US, the UK, the EU, the IMF, the ECB, the Federal Reserve, the Chinese CP, the Russian government, the G20, the Bilderberg Group, the Trilateral Commission, the CFR, Chatham House, and Uncle Tom Cobley and all. Having learned their lesson from the Gutenberg press, they will therefore try to seize and control the Internet. And word reaches us, in these towers of voluntary capitalism, that this is exactly what we can read about in of all places, the Wall Street Journal, one of the house papers of the macro parasites (no doubt its editor will receive a slapping soon, for going off reservation in such an open and honest manner).
You’ll probably be able to get around the WSJ’s paywall, for the first few goes, so read this:
The U.N. Threat to Internet Freedom
Here’s the beginning, which almost sounds like it could come from Prison Planet:
“On Feb. 27, a diplomatic process will begin in Geneva that could result in a new treaty giving the United Nations unprecedented powers over the Internet. Dozens of countries, including Russia and China, are pushing hard to reach this goal by year’s end. As Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said last June, his goal and that of his allies is to establish “international control over the Internet” through the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a treaty-based organization under U.N. auspices.
If successful, these new regulatory proposals would upend the Internet’s flourishing regime, which has been in place since 1988. That year, delegates from 114 countries gathered in Australia to agree to a treaty that set the stage for dramatic liberalization of international telecommunications. This insulated the Internet from economic and technical regulation and quickly became the greatest deregulatory success story of all time.”
